Product Features

Cook on the prop

NO MENU — THE FOOD IS ON THE GRILL

01

Cook on the prop

Patties and skewers sit on the grill and change as they cook. There is no menu to open and no progress bar standing in for the food.

Real charcoal, real fire

LIGHT IT, THEN WALK AWAY

02

Real charcoal, real fire

Fill the kettle from a bag, light it, and the bed of coals takes. A full load burns for 30 minutes, then the fire goes out on its own.

Skewers cook piece by piece

EVERY PIECE COOKS ON ITS OWN CURVE

03

Skewers cook piece by piece

Each piece on a skewer has its own state. A perfect piece of beef next to a still-raw pepper is entirely possible.

What is HZ-Cook?

HZ-Cook is a fully physical BBQ cooking system for FiveM. There is no cooking menu, no recipe list and no progress bar. You drop a barbecue, light it, put the food on the grill — and the food cooks whether you are watching or not.

It ships as one resource and its content: hz_cook, the cooking framework, and HZ-Cook BBQ, the barbecue pack that copies into it — three folders, one ensure line. The framework provides the mechanics, the sync and the bridges; the pack provides the stations, recipes, ingredients and props.

No menus. The grill is the interface.

Nobody opens a menu to cook here.

Drop a barbecue. Light it. Put the food on the grill.

Then walk away.

Come back later and that steak might be completely burnt.

Food that actually cooks

Every ingredient is painted across 100 baked cooking frames, raw to perfect to overdone to burnt. Nothing switches from one state to another — it moves through all of them, on the prop, in front of the player.

Leave your food on the grill too long and it keeps cooking while you are away. Closing the lid cooks 2.5 times faster, so leaving it open is what buys you time to talk.

Cooking quality matters

How well a piece was cooked decides how much hunger it actually restores. On a skewer:

  • Perfect — 100%
  • Overdone — 65%
  • Raw — 35%
  • Burnt — 10%
A burger runs on a continuous scale instead, flooring at 25%. Cook it properly and your players will notice.

Build your food your way

There are no predefined recipes to pick from. What the food is worth comes from what went into it and how well each part was cooked.

Burgers

Assembled layer by layer, on the station, in the order the player chooses — up to 12 layers: bottom bun, patty, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, bacon, ketchup, mustard, top bun. The layers stack visually as they go on.

Skewers

Threaded one piece at a time: beef, chicken, fish, mushroom, onion, green pepper, red pepper, tomato, zucchini.

Each piece cooks on its own curve and shows its own state. Your chicken can be perfectly cooked while the pepper next to it is still raw.

Real charcoal

The fire is not infinite.

The charcoal kettle burns real charcoal, and the bag carries what is left of it — filling a half-empty barbecue with a full bag uses half the bag, and the bag stays in the inventory at 50%.

Pouring is animated, the bed of coals grows as the charcoal falls, and ignition crosses 60 baked frames from cold coals to glowing. A full load burns for 30 minutes, the bed shrinks as it goes, and the fire goes out on its own. Refill it and keep the BBQ going.

Built for multiplayer

Everything is synchronized and server-authoritative: stations, fire, food, cooking progress, lid and coal level.

Place a BBQ. Light it. Put the food on. Flip the steak. Build a burger. Everyone sees the same thing.

Multiple players can cook together on the same station without sharing the same food state.

Four cooking stations

  • Portable barbecue — gas, hinged lid, side shelf with four ingredient bins, sauce bottles, spatula on its hook
  • Gas barbecue — the tall one. Same shelf and lid, different frame
  • Charcoal kettle — runs on charcoal, not gas. Animated lid, no side shelf, and its own annex counter
  • Campfire — a grill over a wood fire. No lid, no knob, so no cooking penalty either
All four are carried in the inventory, placed where players want them, and picked back up the same way.

The station is furnished

  • Four ingredient bins on the shelf, backed by a real stash of 25 slots. Take the last tomato and the bin's model changes to the empty one.
  • Ketchup and mustard bottles, targeted directly on the prop.
  • A spatula on its hook, picked up and carried.

Custom assets

HZ-Cook comes with a complete set of custom BBQ and food assets built for the system — nothing borrowed from base game props.

  • 36 custom props
  • 146 model files
  • 12 hand-made animations across 4 dictionaries
  • Custom collisions and LODs
  • 41 MB total asset package
Every food item has its own visual states, so several players can cook at the same time without their food visually interfering with each other. That is what the 146 files are for — they are never all resident at once.

Frameworks, inventories and targets

  • Frameworks — ESX, QBCore, QBox, Standalone
  • Inventories — ox_inventory, qb-inventory, qs-inventory
  • Target / interaction — hz_lib, ox_target, qb-target, hz_textui
Automatic detection — no hard-coded framework configuration. Any of the four targets works. Worth knowing where the choice shows on this script: four ingredient bins, two sauce bottles and a spatula share one shelf — seven targets before you reach the grill, the lid and the knob — and the small props are placed without collision so players don't walk into a ketchup bottle, which makes them harder for a target to catch. HZ-TextUi selects the pin drawn on screen and lets you widen aimRadius; on qb-target you raise qbMinZone and qbZDrop instead.

What's included

The framework and its barbecue pack ship together:

  • hz_cook — the cooking framework, sync and bridges
  • HZ-Cook BBQ — the barbecue pack that merges into it: stations, recipes, ingredients, props, animations
  • The charcoal system, the multiplayer synchronization, and the items file for each supported inventory
Stations, recipes and ingredients are registered through exports, so you can add your own without editing anything that ships.
