Native audio mix

No sound files added: the script alters the game’s native mix through _nt_core_mx.dat15.rel (AUDIO_DYNAMIXDATA) and _nt_core_gm.dat151.rel (AUDIO_GAMEDATA).

What is HZ-AudioMixer?

HZ-AudioMixer is the first per-player audio mixer built for FiveM roleplay servers. It gives every player on your server independent control over 9 audio channels, solving GTA V's long-standing volume balance problems once and for all.

Unlike server-wide audio settings that affect everyone the same way, HZ-AudioMixer lets each player fine-tune their own audio experience. One player can lower weapon sounds while keeping voice chat loud, while another can boost ambient noise for immersion. Settings are saved automatically and persist across sessions.

Why per-player audio matters on FiveM

GTA V was designed as a single-player game. Its audio mix assumes one player, one screen, one set of speakers. On a FiveM roleplay server with 100+ concurrent players, this creates constant friction:

  • Gunshots drown out voice chat during combat scenarios
  • Vehicle engine noise makes it impossible to hear passengers
  • Rain and ambient sounds overpower scripted audio (radio, TV, phone calls)
  • Music from scripts (clubs, events) blasts at full volume with no way to reduce it
Server owners have tried workarounds: global volume commands, per-script volume configs, client-side mods. None of them give players the granular control they need. HZ-AudioMixer does.

9 independent audio channels

Each channel controls a specific GTA V audio category:

  • Master Volume — global multiplier applied on top of all other channels
  • Weapons — gunshots, explosions, melee impacts
  • Vehicles — engine, tires, horns, sirens
  • Rain — rain, thunder, wind
  • Music — in-game radio, scripted music, ambient score
  • Game Sounds — native GTA V sound effects
  • Scripts — all sounds triggered by FiveM scripts (xSound, InteractSound, etc.)
  • Ambient — environmental audio (birds, traffic, city noise)
  • Voice Chat — pma-voice, mumble-voip, or any voice system

Persistent per-player settings

Volume preferences are saved using FiveM's native KVP storage. No database required, no server-side overhead. Settings load instantly on player connect and survive server restarts.

Real-time mixing

Players can open the mixer at any time via keybind or command. Changes apply immediately with no delay, no stutter, and no audio artifacts.

Performance optimized

  • 0.02ms idle (mixer closed) — virtually zero impact
  • 0.03ms active (mixer open) — negligible overhead
  • NUI-based UI with no continuous rendering when closed
